Wow, so I’ve got lots of new friends who check the xanga now….tight.

My first week of “in the field” stuff has been pretty cool so far…meeting with some larger businesses, etc. I’ve done some sales ride alongs, and today will be doing a service ride along. Why service? Because as a sales executive I’m going to be telling people how awesome our service guys are, and calling service guys to ask them to help my customers. I need to know and respect the service man and his schedule. I’m looking forward to it….Tom sounds like a nice guy.

On another note, we’re getting cable internet set up today….and I’m stinkin’ stoked. Dial-Up isn’t for people who love God. 🙂 Life will be so much faster now.

Here’s some recent food for thought: In Jerusalem (old-school), they had one word that represented both “wife” and “woman”. They also referred to her as “my woman”, the way a man today refers to “my truck”. (although some men still say “my woman”….my advice to the women involved with those men…..tell him to get a truck) This is just one small part of the culture that Christ was bringing His revolutionary message to. Can you imagine being a woman in that day, men don’t speak to you, and definitely do not make eye contact with you, because you’re not worth it. Only in private can your husband even look/talk to you. Rabbi’s….no way. But this Jesus/Teacher/Rabbi looks right at you, asks you if you’re thirsty, etc…knows your NAME.

So how would Jesus stand out in today’s culture. Transitioning from a modern to a postmodern (or whatever you think) era….what are some things about our culture today that would make a man like Jesus stand out?

Do they make you stand out? Like a sore thumb? 🙂 Good.

Peace, love, and engineering the flow of communication….
