So yeah…I don’t post enough…sorry ya’ll.

I can NOT WAIT for September 17th!! For those who don’t know, that’s when most early season hockey tickets go on sale….I wanna go to as many games as possible. Gotta see Steve Yzerman play. If you don’t know much about him…read his bio on http://www.detroitredwings.com He’s a legend.

Came up with a good idea last night in the midst of a goofy game. Federally mandated post-high school education!!! Who would have thought that Chadwick Anderson would be a fan of such a thing…but really I think it’s a great idea. Give tax-credit incentives to people to continue their education beyond high-school and/or college. Life classes. Some practical for living, some theoretical to keep society thinking. Some social. Some religious. ETC. There are so many things that we are ignorant on, and I think it’s because so many of us (myself included) have always viewed education as a negative thing. A “hoop” we have to jump through before getting to what we really want to do in life. (the hoop analogy was actually used by my pastor to “motivate me” in high school….didn’t work surprisingly)

If education was taught and viewed and internalized as a positive thing…and a privaledge…(not sure how that would be done). Somehow getting students to the point where when they graduate high school or college…instead of saying “whew, glad that’s over”…they’d say “wow, what’s next?”…having an insatiable appetite for learning.

Anyways…I’m spewing verbally…my bad. I just believe we should never cease learning. And not just…”wow, I learned something new today”. But actively seeking/reading/purposefully learning.

At the same time, I guess there’s a risk. In early Christianity they had a HUGE emphasis on knowledge and on learning, and lost focus of the true message of the church. Knowledge must come with wisdom, which is ONLY found in Christ. It’s one of our country’s biggest needs….wisdom.

Anyways, I’m out for now…working more this week, and KAYAKING on saturday!! WHOO HOO…CURRENT RIVER HERE I COME!!!
