Okay all, here is a revelation from the life of Chadwick that only a few so far are privey to…
Last week, Sarah and I went for our second Dr. visit for our soon-to-be bundle of joy. It was incredible! To see our baby, so tiny, and yet so much bigger than the last time we saw it. Now with little buds of arms and legs, and a cranium befitting of a child from my family.
It was truly a moment to remember, and to be able to stand there holding my wife’s hand, watching our baby develop….wow. So then we asked the Doc if we could hear the baby’s heart beat, usually that’s an option at 2 months. He said sure, and began to get it ready for us to listen….
My hands were sweaty….I was watching the screen intently….barely breathing we were so excited….my vision blurred…..my legs gave in……….
(mumbles sounding like Charlie Brown’s teacher were all I heard at this point, the Doctor catching me on my way down, the nurse in training was freaking out, and somehow I ended up on the table where Sarah had been lying down.)
When I was able to see/hear again, I was being handed a glass of cold water, laying down with a rag over my head. I felt like a stink-head. My wife’s/child’s moment…and I took all the attention. We didn’t even hear the baby’s heartbeat. Thankfully, this happened after he gave us new pictures, and made sure the baby was healthy.
Needless to say I was a bit embarrassed. Most husbands wait until at least the delivery room to pass out. Me? The ultrasound did me in. Lord help me in August….:)
Feeling better now….trying to get healthier in case my bad cholesterol had anything to do with that…..and I’ll remember to breathe regularly next time, just in case.
So anyways….hope u had a good laugh, or at least a smile, and thanks also for all of your prayers and support!!! Looking forward to an incredible August!!!!
