Ted DeKker fans….get out there and read SHOWDOWN if you haven’t yet. It’s phenomenal, really.

For those of you who aren’t Ted Dekker fans….what’s wrong? BUY some or all of his books TODAY, and start reading them! You’ll thank God…..really.

Updates on me and the Mrs….

Check http://www.myspace.com/pstrwick for picture of the baby!!!

Still working for Pitney Bowes….anyone want a postage meter? For real though….I’m learning more and more that perhaps I’m not made for the sales world. Yes, I’m good with people, I love them. This makes me good with relational jobs. But that’s where it ends. In sales you need to be good at pressuring people, or at least digging in and finding out things they don’t want you to know…etc. I stink at that. If someone tells me they don’t want to buy….I usually just say…okay.

Anywhoo. So has anyone been watching the Wings’ this season? For real yo….we got a great chance at the Stanley and I can’t wait to watch!!!

Preaching tonight at Clinton, IL Church of the Nazarene, and again later this month at Trinity in Decatur. Judging/speaking at a Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby in a couple weeks….that should be a riot!:)

4 controllers on my X-Box now….so if anyone wants to come play Ninja Turtles with me….COWABUNGA. That’s all I gotta say.

Loving life and people, even in the most difficult of times career-wise. In the middle of a sales meeting where everyone starts talking about how much money we all wanna make this year, I zone out. I start looking around the room at each of them, and just whispering prayers in my mind. This is a great technique….1. it helps me not get all stressed out about money like some of them are. 2. We could all use someone whispering prayers for us. 3. It helps me to actually love these people that I hardly know, and have partnered with for only a short time. You love those you pray for, and pray for those you love. Want to love someone? Spend time praying for them.

Anyways, I need to jet for now….painting this weekend….busy busy busy. God bless u all, and we miss you guys!! Give us a call/letter/stop by sometime soon!!!!

God is good.

I’m thankful for the bits of Sabbath that are sprinkled evenly through out my week. The small chunks of time I’m able to take a breath from all that life continues to throw my way. The hours of driving. The minutes before I leave the bed. The 10 minute shower. Chewing my food. Etc.

I was reminded recently of the responsibility of creation. A responsibility and a duty that we all share. A responsibility that we often forget/neglect.

We are born with a tendency to lean towards the concept that we own this life. This life, this body, these thoughts, this imagination, these gifts….these are completely mine. I want. I strive. I desire. I achieve. I will.

God reminds us, yes we have been given free will. But our responsibility is to come to a greater understanding. Our duty as creation is to realize and live towards ALL of creation. Thomas Merton said “no man is an island”. No matter how individual we wish to live our lives, or how separate we want to keep ourselves from others, we’re inexplicably connected. Each life, each spirit, each soul is affected, and affects those around it. As a believer in Christ, God is calling us to be more and more aware of how we are each a piece of the whole of creation He has created to bring Him joy.

Easy for the cynic to look at the picture. If I were to create my own world, in which every creature in the world had only one purpose, to give me Joy, and worship me….it would seem a bit arrogant, eh? Like I was completely full of myself. Why? Because I’m human. Because to have someone worship me, or to see myself as worthy of worship is un-natural.

Enter God. Alpha and Omega. Infinite. The I Am. Is it arrogant for God to create a world in which every living thing has only one purpose, to worship Him? No.

It’s the nature of God to be God. And only God. And yet, He became human….lived with us…..died….suffers…knows us each intimately.

Praise God we have a God who Loves us so much.

Remember to seek how you fit into God’s total creation this week, this year, and throughout your life.

That’s right. Boo yah.

3 Phenomenal years with the woman who taught/teaches me more about love daily…

…and is working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to bring our child into the world.

May everyone find a love like this.

Thanks Mrs. Anderson. I love you. Happy Anniversary.

And to the Father…Jesus Christ….Thanks so much. This “is” because of You.

To our friends/family – Thanks for being there for us. A lot has happened just in the past 3 years, from Bourbonnais to Cedar Rapids, and here to Decatur. Your lives have touched ours and continue to. Merry Christmas, and may God bless each of your families in incredible ways even as you read this.
