Alright friends, we’ve made it past the first few days with only a few scars (literally). It was a great weekend of camping/kayaking/lighting fireworks/relaxing/fellowshipping/worshipping/etc. with great friends and family.:)

We left Friday to stay the night with our friends in Bloomington…the plan was to shop for everything we needed, and get all ready to leave Saturday morning around 9:30ish. Everything went as planned, and we were all tired, but ready to go. Saturday morning came, and I was SICK!!! For those of you who don’t know…I can’t vomit. That may not sound like a bad thing, but when u need to puke, it is. I can’t breathe, it hurts like crazy, and actually is very dangerous for my body.

Thankfully, I have a wife who wouldn’t just let it go. She made us go to the ER in Bloomington, where they pumped me full of anti-nausea stuff through an IV for a few hours. Finally around noonish I was released. Sarah and I headed back to Decatur so I could get some rest. Meanwhile, we didn’t know what would happen to our camping trip…but I NEVER get to go camping, so I was determined to heal myself, and knew God could definitely do it. So after prayin’/napping a couple hours, I told Sarah I was ready to go camping. She wasn’t easily convinced, but finally we left, and met our friends at the campsite in Indiana….we got there after 8pm, but still had enough fun, and great talks. Sunday we went kayaking for 15 miles down Sugar Creek, in Indiana. Took us almost7 hours, but we made it. It was a TON of fun, and I’ll post some pictures when I get them developed. Camped again Sunday night, and hung out Monday for a while, before parting ways and heading to Sarah’s sisters’ house.

In Indiana, they have GREAT laws about fireworks, and pretty much anything goes. So we went to one of those huge fireworks warehouses, and bought tons of things that none of us had experience with. Huge rockets/fireworks that needed 40-foot clearance/etc. It was good times, and a TON better than being in IL lighting sparklers or whatever…hehe. Then I headed home last night to be home all day today….a Chadwick day. Workin’ on sermons, studyin…readin’….drinkin’ coffee….relaxing….and getting ready to start my new job the rest of the week.

Pray for Sarah this week, she’s working at a soccer camp in Indiana…she’ll have a ton of fun, and she’s GREAT with kids, and she’ll be able to spend time with her sister, and the baby…..hmmm… Okay, so really u should pray for me. I’m without my wife, and starting a new job, and staying in Peoria where I know nothing and nobody. Thanks.

God bless u all, and I’ll update you as life gets exciting!!!

Alright friends, get ready for a ride and a half.  Starting tonight, I’m leaving for camping at Turkey Run State Park with 2 other couples for the weekend.  Monday we leave camping and head to Terre Haute for fireworks with family.  Tuesday I head back to Decatur to pack/prepare for my new job.  Wednesday I leave for Peoria to train with Pitney Bowes.  They’re putting me up in a hotel during weeknights until I finish training.  I’ll be home for the weekend, and then back up to Peoria for July 11th-14th.  The 15th, Sarah and I leave for Indiana Wesleyan where I’m speaking at a Youth Mission trip/camp for a friends’ Youth Group from Mississippi….completely stoked for that….but anywhoo.  Then I get back here on the 21st of July, and leave not long after that for more training down in Atlanta, GA for Pitney Bowes.  Whew…and those are just the dates I KNOW.  More may come as we go into this wonderful journey into the unknown.:)  Be praying for me/us as we take this a day at a time.  And if you’re a teen from Decatur who happens to read this…..don’t worry, I still love ya’…and I’ll be back on thursday nights ASAP, and should be there every Sunday but one.

I should be able to get online once in a while during my training in Peoria, so look for more updates as they come!!  God bless you all, and thanks for your prayers!!!!

What up friends? Had a great night last night hangin’ with a couple from Bloomington. My wife and this girl were room mates back at the Soul Mother. I didn’t really know her husband that well back in college, but have been getting to know him a lot since then. They’re awesome people, and “real” people.

Holla’ back if u feel me on this….some people just aren’t “real”. I know I had that problem back in college. It’s sooooo darned easy to just float around and be friends with everyone and la la la. But if someone asked me how I was doing, or even if I asked them how they were doing…no real conversation would ever take place. Know people like that? Are you someone like that?

So what cured me? I got married to a woman more real than me…and guess what? She expected me to be real with her!!! I actually think it’s one of the main reasons I began to love her….she wanted more from me. Most people were okay with just the surface Chadwick….I’m fun, goofy, well-connected, etc. Not Sarah….she wanted to KNOW Chadwick…and now I attempt to model all of my friendships after her advice. (shhhh….don’t tell her though, she’ll get a big head)

It’s the same with God so often. We’d love to be “friends” with God. He’s huge, he’s popular, he’s comforting, and gives us feel-good emotions. But do we really want to KNOW God??? Well, we were all wired with that hunger, so I know we can all agree on it…but have we all realized it? Every day we wake up with the choice to either feed that hunger, or ignore it. But guess what would have happened if I’d ignored Sarah? I would have missed out on a whole lotta’ love. And God?? THE ULTIMATE LOVE RELATIONSHIP. Don’t miss out today. Get to KNOW God.
