Well, what a weekend!!  We had a great time with everyone from church on Sunday, as usual.  Then partied hard at my house watchin’ a little Napoleon Dynamite, and knockin’ back some tots. (tater, of course)  We hit the sack a bit late that night, but with all the sleepin’ we did on Saturday, it was fine.

We left bright and early Monday morning for Decatur.  Right when we got there, we stopped by the mall, and set up new cell phone numbers for both Sarah and I.  MY VERY FIRST PERSONAL CELL PHONE!!  Whoo hoo!  Anyways, yeah…I’m stoked.  My new number is cool.   Sarah’s is exactly the same, except for one number.  Try and guess what it is.  It’s more fun that way.  Anyways, after we left there, we went to her parents’ house, and made some calls.  I set up an interview for 1:30 at a Christian Home for DD Adults. (DD = Developmentally Disabled)  We waited around a bit, got some lunch on the run at Krekels (kinda like Culver’s), and took me to my interview.  It didn’t last long, and after a surprisingly short set of questions, she asked me if I could start tomorrow!!  PTL!!  After all the runnin’ around other places have given me, this place was definitely a godsend.  Who knows how long I’ll be working there, months…years..?  Right now I’ll be working full time shifts from like 3pm-11pm weekdays.  That will give me days with my incredible wife, and to work with local churches/etc.  And she knows I want to pursue traveling/preaching as well, and want a ministry job.  So she’s trying to help me out, which is way cool.  Benefits stink like roadkill, but thankfully I can keep the church’s insurance for a bit longer, just pay the premium myself.

SO anyways, after I GOT A JOB, we went and set up a bank account, and found out Sarah Nicol still had an account there.  So we changed the name to Sarah Anderson and added me, and she had like $30 in her account already! FREE MONEY!!!:)  So we had cell phones, a job, a bank account….we needed a place to live.  At 5:30, we went to the apartments, and signed the lease…it’s a big 2 bedroom apartment, with a storage room downstairs.  It’s actually pretty nice.  We can’t keep Bixie there, which stinks….but Sarah’s parents rock, and will care for her for us for now.  We can keep Starbucks though.:)  So then we had cell phones, a job, bank account, and an apartment!!!  Things are comin’ together.  We went back for cake and ice cream for her brothers’ birthday.

This morning we got up leisurely, and hit the road 4 hours back here to CR.  Our car will be thankful for the rest after we move, definitley.  I drove the whole way, cause I’m the man.  I’m not really “macho” or anything, I just see it as another way I can love my wife.  Like pumping the gas, or carrying a heavy box for her. 🙂  She likes driving, and sometimes I let her on long trips.  Or when I have a really really really good book to read.  On the way home I got a call from Jamie Ross…..we’re talking about me being the speaker for her Youth Groups (200+ students) Summer Trip!!!  WHOO HOO!!  My first official “gig” as a speaker!!  So anyways, I’m pretty stoked.  I have faith…God is leading us towards some incredible things, and I can’t wait to see what all it involves.  For now, I know I’ll have the opportunity to love some of those who society doesn’t always love the most…and I’m excited about it.  Yes, mom…even if it means cleaning up their poop.  On that note…God bless…and Amen…:)

Well, pray for Mrs. Anderson today, she’s telling her students that we’re moving.  It’s hard to imagine a teacher with emotions….but it’s becoming easier as I’m living married to one.  They actually care about their students, and their students’ lives.  Hopefully it all went as well as it could.  She loves those kids, even if they do give her quite a bit of work usually.  I’m sure she’ll miss them.

Well, hopefully you’re all using the word “Praught” constantly, or at least as much as possible.  Yesterday I used it quite a bit.  Last night Sarah and I ended up over at Becky and Justin’s for a nice game of sequence.  The men stomped on the women like twice, and then they didn’t feel like gettin’ their butts beat again.  So we let them off easy.  Came home and decided I’d finally try to watch one of those CSI shows.  This is a big deal.

Ever since Chadwick and TV met, Chadwick has been either a movie, a short cartoon, or at most….a 30 minute sitcom person.  Once in a while, a reality series has captured my attention (The Apprentice), but normally I attempt to stay away from anything over 30 minutes in length.  Too much drama.  But last night I watched an entire episode of CSI: Miami.  WOW.

It was like a stinkin’ MOVIE!!  All packed into 60 minutes (minus commercials), there was plot, characters, rising action, conflict, resolution, etc.. all the main basic elements.  Albeit a bit predictable in some ways, it was nevertheless engaging, thought provoking, and entertaining!  I’m quite surprised by the whole thing, really.  Not that I’m going to become a CSI freak or anything, but it really helps to know these adult shows aren’t completely boring like I assumed them to be.  So many times I’ve been looking for something on TV, only to see all 60 minute shows…and disappointedly turned the whole thing off.  Now I know, as long as I stay dedicated through the entire 60 minutes….it’s worth my time:)  Sure, I could be reading a book, serving the homeless, or saving the world….but hey, um….yeah, really there’s no excuse.  So I suppose I need to not think about it too much either, spoils the relaxation.  But hey, it’s okay cause everyone does it, right?  Hmm…maybe not.

Anyways….two quick announcements….anyone want a dog?  We’ve finally decided that if anyone wants her, we’re looking for a good home for Bixie the 7 yr. old retired showdog.  We can’t have her in our new apartment, and although Sarah’s parents say they wouldn’t mind…I wouldn’t feel right dumping her into their lap.  She’s a poop machine, and chews up anything she can.  We love her, but we have come to the realization that she is a dog.  Hopefully we can find someone, otherwise we’ll just have ta’ keep her at Sarah’s parents’ house.  Let me know if you know anyone interested.

2nd Announcement – OUR NEW ADDRESS!!!

Chadwick and Sarah Anderson
2454 Florian Ave.
Apt. 7

No phone number yet…we’ll post that when we get it all hooked up…but at least we’re making progress!!!  Probably shouldn’t send us anything at that address just yet…not sure if they’re ready for the loads of fan mail we receieve.  But you can file it away for a rainy day.  Word.  That’s all for now…..God Bless….Amen.

Whew….busy weekend.  Here we go, update time.  Well, Sarah and I have felt like poop for the last few days, week for me.  I gave her what I got, and now we’re both infected with some sort of tonsilitis/cold/cough thing that keeps me hackin’ up half the night.  Keith Dixon pointed out how nasty it would actually be to cough up a lung.  Hm….gross.

Anyways, Friday I spent most of the day just chillin’, and nursing my throat.  Friday night, we realized Sarah was sick as all get out along with me, so we both just sat and ate soup and crackers all night.  It was romantic.

Saturday we took Sarah to the doctor, and like the screwball I am, didn’t even mention that I was sick.  She got meds, I got jack.  We also met with our lawyer, because Sarah’s school is being quite difficult with letting her go.  Apparently she’s the best teacher in the world, and nobody else in Cedar Rapids would be able to replace her…cause they’re threatening ta’ sue her for all the damages they’ll experience if she leaves.  I don’t wanna put any names, or even the school name on here, cause this could probably be used against me in a court of law….or something.  Anyways, praise God we’re friends with a lawyer who’s helping us out.  Who knows, they may just be bluffing, but it’s better to be prepared, just in case.  I’ll update you if we get served any papers.  It’s amazing to me sometimes how inhumane some people can treat life.  Sarah’s been told by (someone I shouldn’t name) that she’s wrong for putting family first.  Work should be first priority.  Hmm…something’s wrong with this picture.  Anyways, I could go on forever about how idiotic the whole situation is….but that would probably be brought against me someday.  So I just smile, and listen to LA Symphony “Everything’s gonna be alright”.

Sunday…whew.  Pastor Tim has pneumonia, and that trumps my cold thing.  So we had a speaker lined up already sunday morning…praise the Lord.  But I still had to teach childrens’ church…which was actually pretty fun.  I love kids, and I think I might even be good with them.  This is where all parents would probably laugh and say “you know nothing”.  Okay, well, I had fun at least.  Then I taught Sunday school….and everyone stayed awake!! I think, at least.  It went well, I thought.  It was nice ta’ see Tyler Green again…I like that boy.  Sunday night I had to preach, which leads me to unveiling my new invention….

PRAUGHT – to have preached.  Past tense form of preach.  ie. – I “praught” last night, because pastor was sick.  I don’t think praught is officially a word YET, but with your help we can push it!!  Use it as much as possible, and daily spread it to at least one more person.  Eventually Mr. Webster will take notice…and they can trace it all the way back to Chadwick Anderson’s xanga.  Yes, I will get credit for a word.  Moo haha.  Look out scrabble….here I come.

Anyways, I praught on Romans, and the life of Paul.  Who would Paul define himself as?  Pharisee?  Tent weaver? Preacher?  nope..Check out Romans 1 for Paul’s introduction of himself.  It’s the same for each of us….which is really cool.

Anyways, I’m headin out to Iowa City soon, ta’ catch lunch with the Steapp crew and friends.  They got the day off, God bless Martin Luther King Jr.  For some reason, Sarah’s school didn’t get the day off…hmm.  No comment, cause once again, I could have to eat it. (stupid school) Sorry, that one leaked.  Anyways…God bless….and Amen.
